Alleys and beautiful houses: Memory of a rich past

  • It is on foot that the village is best discovered. Take time to browse through the main street leading to the basilica but also stroll in the alleys where traces of the past abound.

  • Here mullioned windows and elegant ironwork, there an old studded door, a medallion with a heart of stone, a place with a well, the beautiful houses of the canons ... a whole architectural heritage inherited from the Middle Ages or XVIII century and miraculously preserved.

Everywhere hollyhocks, also known as Saint Jacques sticks, slip between the cobblestones and enlighten the golden stone facades.
