The convent of Cordelle: haven of peace and faith

  • This small Franciscan convent and chapel were built in the XII century to commemorate the second crusade preached in this place by St. Bernard in 1146. Nothing to do with the magnificence of the Basilica: here the faith of the monks who have dedicated their lives to prayer is expressed in humility.
A charming path, starting from the Basilica, leads to the chapel and the memorial cross located next door, you'll enjoy a superb view of the village Asquins and the valley of the Cure.
